I saw this...

I saw this sprayed onto the footpath on my way to the station yesterday. It was made with a stencil....Someone has thought about it.....

We must
TALK
to terrorists
There must be a
REASON
for their anger.

Maybe more of us could think about it too.
Did someone say something about 'occupation'?

Right...Lets get stuck in.

So.
The Federal Government here want to install surveillence cameras to "stop" Terrorists.
How will that work?
Ok. So they'll be able to track the movements of suicide bombers, after the fact. As we've seen in London and Madrid, a lot can be learned about their cells, and this information, important information, can be followed up on. Perpetrators rounded up and criminal charges laid. But how will it prevent attacks? Maybe I just can't see the link.

So. The State Government here want to introduce powers that will enable Police to carry out random bag searches without warrants.
I'm sorry, but again, I have to ask how will that actually prevent/deter suicide bombers from jumping on a train and blowing it up?
Picture this. Hypothetical....
Person "A" is carrying a bomb.
Officer "B" approaches person "A".
Officer "B" says to "A"; "Excuse me sir. Would you show me the contents of your bag."
Person "A" (our suicide bomber) is not going to say; "OK Officer. You got me", and just hand their bag over are they? I didn't think so either.
Is this just a way to crack down people who disagree with them or their policies?

So. The US has furthered the Patriot act. They can now go through your borrowing records from your Public library. "So what?" you may say.
Well, let's say you have your book about the Bush dynasty. A book outlining the events of 9/11. An old "James Bond" video...as many students may well have at any given time.
It may not mean much, to you or me, but those kind of materials, well, they could mean "unpatriotic", "independant thinker" "Dissident".
And we don't want those sorts around now do we?

So. Let's put all three together, as it wouldn't need a long stretch of the imagination to do.

I am "watched" as I enter my public library.
My records are scanned for the types of books I read and they may, or may not, have dissent written all over them. (Not literally of course)
Then I am found to be quite innocently carrying my copy of "Farneheit 9/11" or even my copy of Ray Bradbuy's "Farenheit 451". (When my bag is searched)
So does that make me some kind of "bad guy"? NO
But, if we let things continue along the current path, that is what will be happening.

Oh also...I learnt stuf at skool.
Ciao.

Hey peeps.
Just dropping in to say Hi.
I'm trying to do some of my school-work right now, so won't get to involved in anything.
I have been slack in keeping this blog, the one that I said I would keep up-to-date, but so far have not, as I haven't been online for a few days.

Please excuse my poor spelling in my last post as I was hurried and did not check.

Post soon.

Here We Go...

Ok ppl. Here is the real deal.
This is NOT my first blod. You don't need to knowthe other ones, but this one WILL be maintained, and hopefully reasonably interestin, (at least to me).
It will also be a little cathartic as I will vent here, rant, rave etc.

I will try to disseminate a small amount of infformation to you that you will (hopefully) find interesting, or amusing.

Most of all I will try to have a little bit of a laugh.

More soon...
